Even with a travel blockade by the United States government to visit, Cuba reported an increase of 4.2 percent in foreign travelers in 2010 with 2.5 million people making their way to the communist nation.

Travel to Cuba is on the rise despite the U.S. making it nearly impossible for people to visit. Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero stated Cuba only has 50 percent of the potential customers visiting them when compared to other Caribbean travel destinations.

Marrero explained the other 50 percent is U.S. tourists, who are not allowed to visit due to the country's policies to not work with Cuba.

President Barack Obama has brought up on a few occasions recently to ease travel to Cuba. Millions of Americans have come out in support on lifting the travel ban in order to visit the forbidden destination known for their high quality cigars and pristine beaches.
