Eight pounds of opium was seized by customs officials Tuesday at Los Angeles International Airport.

The quantity was valued at $52k.  It was hidden inside the lining of two suitcases that belonged to a 28-year-old old coming in from Amsterdam according to Homeland Security.  The 28-year-old has been arrested and given to federal authorities.

It was the second opium bust at the airport in less than two weeks.  On Jan. 13th, an Iranian national was arrested for the drug.
