A record 47.2 million people used Dubai International Airport in 2010, as the airport continues to increase in traffic dramatically year over year.

Dubai's main airport saw a 15.3 percent increase in traffic, up from 40.9 million passengers in 2009. 

The record number broke airport officials estimates, which was a little over 46.1 million for 2010. 

Dubai's airport saw more than four million travelers visit for the third consecutive month in December, and for the fourth time in 2010.
