Operations Returning to Normal at Dallas Airports CheapOair Staff February 3, 2011 general Officials at DFW expect operations to return to normal Thursday After two days of canceled flights due to icy conditions and dangerous winds, things are now returning to normal at Dallas airports. Officials at Dallas/Fort Worth International expect to be fully back on track by Thursday afternoon. Conditions there began to improve late yesterday after American Airlines was forced to cancel nearly 30 percent of its morning flights out of the hub. Things weren’t running so smoothly at Dallas’ Love Field Wednesday, where city workers struggled all day to clear ice from runways. Southwest Airlines was unable to fly in or out of Love Field for much of the day. Despite the midweek setback from the intense winter storm, officials at both airports remain confident that they will be able to get Super Bowl travelers to the big game on time. Peak travel times for the game will be late Thursday and Friday. Officials anticipate flights to be operating at or close to a normal schedule by then. Source: Dallas Morning News
