WestJet Sees 23 Straight Profitable Quarters

WestJet Airlines closed 2010 with their 23rd straight profitable quarter and an increase from 2009 to 2010.

The Calgary-based airline reported fourth quarter earnings closed at $47.9 million, up from C$20.2 million in 2009, an increase of 217 percent.

According to the report, WesJet’s bounce back was due to the increase in travel demand, tight cost control and new partnerships. The airline has been expanding into the North American demographic, all ready having codeshare agreements with Delta Air Lines and American Airlines.
