O'Hare International Airport

A new $1.7 billion deal was reached Monday between the city of Chicago and the airlines of United and American on work to be done at the O'Hare International Airport.


Details, which were released by the Department of Transportation, allude to the sides agreeing on work being done on the south runway of the airport as well as other items (not specified) that would help deal with the growing traffic.


The two sides agreed to sit down again no later than March 1st of 2013 to work out the remaining details of the airport rebuilding effort.


Construction is expected to start during the spring.
