Despite Rising Fuel Costs JetBlue Makes First Quarter Profit

Increased Traffic Beat Rising Fuel Costs

JetBlue Airways released their first quarter numbers Thursday showing a profit in the face of rising fuel cost.

The airline took in $3 million for the first quarter, beating its $1 million loss for the same quarter a year ago. Its revenue also jumped 16 percent to $1 billion.

Despite the 35 percent rise in fuel costs the airline had higher traffic to make a profit.
