AirTran to No Longer Serve DFW Airport

Recently merged airlines, Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways, will be celebrating with events Monday in Dallas and Atlanta in honor of the partnership.


Southwest paid $1.4 billion for AirTran.


The new found acquisition will allow Southwest to reach over 100 destinations.Though it indends to end AirTran's run Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.


Executives from both airlines will partake in a “ceremonial” signing of the dotted line in front of two Boeing 737 airplanes at Southwest’s hanger in Love Field airport.  Once completed, they will board an AirTran flight for more happenings in Atlanta.
