Qantas says Friday delays should be minimal

Qantas is preparing for the effects of a proposed one-hour strike by over 1,000 of its engineers this Friday.

The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association called on its members Monday to strike between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sydney time on May 13. The proposed strike action stems from on-going issues over pay and conditions.

In a statement, the airline said it is taking measures to ensure the disruption of Friday flights remains minimal.

The union did not rule out future strikes but did not specify a time or duration for any such action.
