You may have seen the news reports about the widespread E. Coli outbreak in Germany. It is officially blamed for 16 deaths and has sickened hundreds more.

The exact source of the outbreak remains a mystery but some are pointing to infected lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. 

To quell concerns over in-flight health and safety, American Airlines announced on their website that they will temporarily pull salads off the menus on all flights departing from Europe.

The airline said it will monitor health reports from the World Health Organization before reinstating in-flight greens.
