New York City’s Museum Mile Festival Kicks Off Tuesday CheapOair Staff June 13, 2011 general The Met is one of nine museums participating in the festival Nine museums along New York City’s Museum Mile will open their doors to the public Tuesday, offering free admission during the city’s 33rd annual Museum Mile Festival. 22 blocks along Fifth Avenue will be closed between 6 pm and 9 pm while revelers take in live music, outdoor art shows, and roving street entertainment. Participating museums include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the Museum of the City of New York, the Jewish Museum, and the National Academy Museum & School among others.
