Travel Shot: Summer Fun on the Boardwalk CheapOair Staff June 21, 2011 general Guests enjoy a ride on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant, NJ Summer time is officially here and that means people across the country are once again flocking to the nearest beach to enjoy the sun, sand, and water. For some, summer isn’t really summer until they’ve enjoyed their first ice cream cone on the boardwalk or taken that first ride on the old carousel. Boardwalks have always played an integral part of the American summer and they have been making a bit of a comeback in recent years. From the restoration of Coney Island in New York to the ressurcection of the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, beach communities around the country are re-investing in the American boardwalk, and our summers will be all the better because of it.
