Lady Gaga recently appeared at a Tokyo press conference alongside Japan's tourism agency commissioner and the US ambassador to Japan, touting the nation’s recovery and praising the spirit of the Japanese people. Gaga, who will remain in Japan for Saturday’s MTV Video Music Awards Japan, has been a champion of Japanese recovery efforts in recent months. She has donated $1 million of her own money to the cause and has been a vocal supporter of the nation through Social Media outlets like Twitter.
