TSA Agents Now Need 'Reasonable Suspicion'

Legislation to make intrusive pat-downs by TSA agents a crime in Texas was passed Monday by the Texas House and Senate.


The law means a TSA agent must have ‘reasonable suspicion’ before conducting an enhanced search and patting-down ones privates.


Should a TSA agent violate the act it would be categorized as a Class A misdemeanor, which means they could face a year in jail and a fine of $4,000.
