AA traffic up in June on foreign demand

 

American Airlines announced this week a 1.3 percent increase in traffice for the month of June. This gain was thanks to a high demand for international travel. AA plans to add more capacity for travel overseas.

 

American also gained 1.3 percent in traffic for May when compared to a year earlier. Capacity on the Dallas based carrier jumped 1.8 percent, although its load factor, a measure of occupancy on a plane, dropped from 86.8 percent to 86.3 percent.

 

Traffic on international flights was up 4.8 percent, while domestic traffic dropped by 0.9 percent.
