Program Has Yet to Catch a Terrorist

Details emerged Wednesday regarding the Department of Homeland Security’s intentions to spend $1 billion on a “controversial” airport security program.

It’s the same program that’s been around for seven years and has yet to catch one terrorist.

The government has all ready used $750 million on the Screening of Passengers by Technique (SPOT). SPOT trains airport officers to keep a look out for “micro-expressions” of travelers.

In a report by the Government Accountability Office at least 17 terrorists have eluded the SPOT program.

The ABC report also indicates that the TSA knew the SPOT program didn’t have scientific basis before it was implemented into airport security proceedings.
