The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced plans Thursday to test a program using volunteers to encourage quicker airport security screenings.
Its President Obama’s first try at helping those who’ve complained about TSA security screening.
Slated to begin in the fall it will use anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 volunteers.
The program will only be used for U.S. citizens that are frequent flyers.
TSA did not provide details about what the volunteers will endure for security reasons.
Volunteers will be pegged from Delta Air Lines’ frequent flier program.
Other airlines such as JetBlue, United Airlines and Southwest are expected to participate.
