According to the Southern Nevada Health District, six known cases of Legionnaires' Disease have occurred at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

All six victims were guests at the Sin City property and have since recovered from the disease.  Aria did not know of guests contracting the disease until the health district and CDC notified management.

"We had no notification of any guests of any illness," says MGM Resorts International VP of Public Affairs Alan Feldman. While not easy to catch, Legionnaires' Disease is often times related to water that is standing for even a short amount of time. The infected water must be inhaled in order to come down with the disease. 

Since the report, Aria officials have inspected each room and killed the bacteria. The rooms are now considered safe, however the same cannot be said for Aria's tarnished reputation. 

With so many options for lodging on the strip, many tourists might go elsewhere instead of booking a stay at Aria. However with only six cases reported in a hotel that has 5,000 rooms, Aria should be able to recover from this bad publicity.
