The Puget Sound from the top of the Space Needle

Arguably the most recognizable symbol of Seattle, the Space Needle was originally constructed for the 1962 World’s Fair. Standing at a height of 605 feet, the tower was for many years the largest structure located west of the Mississippi River.

Nearly 50 years after its unveiling, the Space Needle still attracts millions of visitors each year. At 500 feet, the rotating SkyCity restaurant offers stunning panoramic views of the city as does the obervation deck located 20 feet above.

This photo taken on the observation deck captures clouds rolling in over the stunningly blue waters of the Puget Sound. To see the Space Needle and the rest of this beautiful city for yourself, check out our cheap flights to Seattle.
