United Continental offer new mobile app

United Continental debut new app

If you were a customer of United Airlines and Continental Airlines prior to the merger and still need a tool to handle their respective frequent flyer programs, United just release an iPhone app that provides an answer.

The new United Airlines free app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad enables you to manage both your United MileagePlus and Continental OnePass accounts, United says.

Continental already had its own app and United says “users of the Continental app may download the United app for all their travel needs.”

With the new United app, you can book both United and Continental flights, check-in and store mobile boarding passes.

Continental was the first U.S. airline to offer mobile boarding passes and today people flying United and Continental can use mobile boarding passes, stored in their smartphones at more than 100 airports globally, United says.

Among other features of the United Airlines app are the ability to view upgrade priority lists, seat maps, in-flight amenities and departure gates.

United says its new app, which will “soon” be coming to Android phones, as well, also gives users the ability to view United Airlines’ latest tweets.
