Restaurant Review: Ember Room (CC Flickr photo credit: wynlok)

Dark ambiance at the
Ember Room

Located in the heart of theatre district is Ember Room, a tasty Asian barbecue joint that hits the spot.

It serves up greasy-goodness without making you feel guilty.

I personally recommend the BBQ Boneless Short Ribs, no mess and all taste. The bread crumbs mixed with the ginger citrus flavor turns you into an addict, your plate will be clean before you can say “more please.”

If you’re in a hurry and need something they could cook up quickly, I would order the chicken fried rice.  It’s a tasty concoction of sweet thai basil and chili that will inevitably force you to do the unbuckle belt routine.

The menu is pretty eclectic, it ranges from chocolate baby ribs to duck salad, soft shell crab (one of my favorites) and oysters.

People who’ve got airline tickets booked to NYC and plan to take in a show on Broadway should indulge in Ember Room’s theater special.

It’s a three-course pre-fixe that runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Before your show you can indulge in the deliciousness of the Ember Burger or keep it light with an Heirloom Beet Salad (sounds tasty, doesn’t it?).

Would I make a trip back to indulge in Ember Room’s eats, definitely! Service was stellar and friendly, the space was nice and big and spotless too!  You can’t forget about the food either.  It’s a little on the pricier side but its well-portioned, so you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped-off.

It’s a new restaurant that’s only been open since February but they all ready get ‘it,’ hopefully future New York restaurants can follow suit.
