Chicago to Have First Airport Aeroponic Garden

Chicago flights out of O’Hare International Airport are going to get a whole lot greener thanks to their upcoming aeroponic garden.

According to the MSNBC report, it will be the world’s first airport aeroponic garden.

Vegetables grown from the garden, which will be in Terminal 3, will also be used for a few of the restaurants in the facility.

Lettuce, peppers, green beans and herbs will be supplied to the Chicago airport restaurants; Tuscany, Blackhawks Restaurant and Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi.

What’s aeroponic? It’s a method that uses air or mist to help the plants grow in place of dirt.
