Wayne Newton’s Las Vegas tourist wonderland just got bigger

Travelers arriving on flights to Las Vegas will soon have unprecedented access to the life of Wayne Newton. Mr. Newton will soon turn his sprawling 40-acre Las Vegas estate into a tourist wonderland.

The legendary Sin City performer plans to move into a smaller home on his massive property while throwing the doors to his 10,000-square-foot home open to the public sometime next year. The home-turned-museum will showcase memorabilia from some of Las Vegas’ biggest performers, including personal effects from Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and Nat King Cole.

New plans submitted to the company handling the development show that the overhaul will be even larger than originally expected. Modifications include an expanded 78,000 square foot theater where Newton will perform and an enormous Newton-themed car wash that will be capable of handling large tour buses.

Not everyone is excited about the news. The expansion is likely to anger some of Newton’s neighbors who fought against the project before it was finally approved last year.
