Holy protests, Batman!

According to multiple reports Wednesday, The Dark Knight Rises, the next installment of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Batman series, may soon begin filming scenes at the site of Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City.

Though the reports are currently unconfirmed, they do seem to have some merit. The historic protests could serve as a perfect emulation of a chaos-filled Gotham for Nolan, a director who is obsessed with blurring the lines of “illusionary realism.”

While attracting international press attention, the Occupy Wall Street protests have already become a pseudo-tourist attraction for those arriving on flights to New York City.

If scenes of a blockbuster film are really to be filmed there, tourist interest in the protests could skyrocket.
