Las Vegas will soon be home to a fabulous new park
Downtown Las Vegas will welcome the Smith Center in March 2012

There’s more good news this week for folks excited about the cultural renaissance taking place in downtown Las Vegas.

Earlier this week, we told you about the neighborhood’s new “Every City Has a Soul” campaign, which hopes to attract visitors arriving on flights to Las Vegas to leave the Strip and explore the arts scene downtown.

Now, the Las Vegas City Council has approved plans for a 1.7-acre park that will accompany the brand new Smith Center for the Performing Arts when it opens in March 2012.

The Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park will feature a concert stage with seating and plenty of grass and shade. The park will be located directly next to the 2,050-seat Reynolds Hall, which will host Broadway-style shows, philharmonic concerts and the Nevada Ballet Theater.
