Las Vegas Crowds Could Set Records on New Year’s Eve CheapOair Staff December 28, 2011 general Fireworks over Las Vegas Last month we told you how awesome it will be to celebrate New Year’s Eve Las Vegas style in 2011 (err…2012?). It’s no surprise then that Las Vegas officials are expecting some of the biggest NYE crowds in history this weekend. According to a report from Vegas’ 8NewsNow.com, Sin City could welcome over 314,000 visitors through Monday. That would shatter the existing record. One reason for the big crowds is convenient timing. With the New Year’s festivities falling on a weekend, revelers rushed to snatch up cheap flights to Las Vegas. Tourism officials are hoping that the crowds continue into 2012 as the city continues to make a post-recession comeback. CC Flickr photo credit: Michael Asuncion
