Resolve to Check Out New Vegas Spots in 2012 CheapOair Staff January 6, 2012 general Las Vegas is set to heat up in 2012 Fireworks have exploded. Champagne toasts and resolutions have been made (with some already broken). Now, it’s time to take advantage of cheap airfare and head to Las Vegas to check out some of the town’s newest hot spots. 1 Oak – This megaclub that was formerly JET, opened on New Year’s Eve with much adieu. Not only did Fergie help inaugurate the club, but Kanye West made his DJ debut, too. With two rooms, complete with two different DJ booths and original works of art by Roy Nachum, this is a reincarnation of the celeb hot spot in New York City. If opening night is any indication of the celebs gracing the floor, then 1 Oak has a great future in Las Vegas. Hyde – Like 1 Oak, this new nightlife venue opened New Year’s Eve with star-studded black tie gala. This cozy venue is the latest opening of the popular Hyde brand and features stunning views of Bellagio’s famous fountains. Inspired by an Italian villa, Hyde features little homey touches like books and framed photos adorning shelves. Unlike other clubs in town, Hyde serves tapas and gets started with music in the early evening. RPM Nightclub – Opened in the former Nikki Beach spot, RPM is the latest new entity at the reinvented Tropicana. Open select nights of the week, the club, which opened on Dec. 30, is promising a mix of celebs , DJs, dancers and specialty acts partying in the 16,500 square-foot venue. Old Homestead Steakhouse– Speaking or New York reincarnations, Old Homestead Steakhouse is another New York venue that has opened its doors in town. The restaurant, housed inside Caesars Palace, features some of the New York staples such as the 32-ounce Gotham rib steak on bone and an 18-ounce empire cut of prime rib, opened just before New Year’s with great buzz. Aside from the NYC staples on the menu, the restaurant also features some Las Vegas items, such as Kobe meatballs and s’mores. If that’s not enough to get you there, the menu also has homemade tater tots stuffed with cheese and potato gnocchi with truffle butter. Glow Spa – Also new to the Tropicana, Glow Spa first opened its doors in November. The full-service salon and spa features a unique “Capture Your Glow” opportunity for guests to customize their experience from temperature of their room to color, aroma and sound therapy options. Specialty services include a bamboo massage using warm shoots of bamboo soaked in essential oils and being rolled over muscles; the Sweet and Spicy Orange Body Scrub; and the Oxygen Blast, which includes a fruit acid wash, massage, hydrating hot towel and enzyme pack, plus a five-minute oxygen spray.
