Boston’s Beautiful Gardner Museum

One of Boston’s best fine art museums, the Gardner Museum, is to showcase its major expansion this month. Visitors taking Boston flights this year will be able to witness the city’s most innovative new building.

The vast expansion, designed by famous architect Renzo Piano, will honor the building’s original 15th century Venetian design and will feature a new 300 seat concert hall, an exciting addition to the Boston cultural scene.

Piano previously worked on the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the famous Manhattan New York Times Headquarters. The design team has aimed to create a harmony between the historic old building and the exciting modern expansion which will increase capacity.

Opening on January 19, the Gardner Museum will encourage guests to enter through the new wing and walk through a glad corridor into the historic part of Isabella Stewart Gardner’s art gallery which first opened its doors in 1903.

The wife of a Boston man, Gardner lost her son to pneumonia and sought to alleviate her pain by traveling and visiting the art she had dreamed about in Italy.

Featuring paintings by Rembrant and Tintoretto, it’s well worth taking CheapOair flights to Boston to indulge in the city’s biggest cultural moment in years.
