Live it Up Local Style!

There’s no doubt about it- something about the sun-kissed days and fun-filled nights that attract many to Miami. Katy Perry may have said California girls are undeniable, but Miami girls are on fire. (So are the men too, ladies.) Living like a local in Miami is all about enjoying the pleasant weather and having lots of fun while doing so.
Beach Bumming: With 22 miles of beach coastline, there is no excuse not to beach bum. Be like a local and slap on some tanning oil, or SPF and get some natural Vitamin D. Miami has seasonable temperatures all year round with most days being warm and sunny- so you’ll need to invest in a summer wardrobe. Put South Beach on the top of your beach bumming list, it is the quintessential experience to head over to Ocean Drive and strut your stuff. Check out Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park if you’re looking to bring the family for some local fishing, guided tours and relaxing fun.
Shop till you drop at Lincoln Road: Since you’ll need new summer clothes anyway- flip flop, shades and everything that screams summer, you can take this chance to enjoy Miami’s shopping spot. Lincoln Road is a pedestrian mall loaded with stores to shop and restaurants to fuel even more shopping. It was designed in the likes of 5th Avenue in New York, or Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles. Some of the best stores on Lincoln Road are Anthropologie, Bikini Village, and Solstice.
Fridays at Calle Ocho: Little Havana in Miami is notorious for one thing- Cultural Cubans! This is the place to find cigars, tropical fruit markets and delicious Cuban food. Every local knows the last Friday of each month is known as Cultural Friday- a large Latin street party with music, food, performances and more. Some traditional Cuban dishes include a cafecito (Cuban coffee with milk), Ropa Vieja (Shredded Beef over Rice) and a Cubano. (A toasted Cuban styled sandwich.)

Party like a rock star at Nikki Beach: If you’re looking for a party, you’ve come to the right place. Nikki Beach is the idyllic Miami Beach club with groovy tunes, delicious finger food and party central. Start the night by sharing tapas with friends, like a delicious sushi rolls or coconut shrimp. Its location is prime, right on 1st and Ocean Drive, where you get the fresh ocean breeze flowing through your hair. If you don’t feel like dancing, you can take your drink and relax on the white plush beds as if it were your own private party.
Find Hidden Treasures at Coral Castle: New York is known for its eccentric art installments all around the city, but did you know that Miami has its own claim to fame. Coral Castle is a stone structure made of megalithic limestone. It was designed by a Latvian American who spent over 20 years building this castle after a terrible breakup. It is recognized by the National Historic Places, since it is quite an arbitrary, but beautiful site that is not very known in Miami. It makes a fun day trip for locals or tourists that want to hang out on the off-beaten path.
