Port Vell: Otherwise known as Old Harbor, Port Vell is one of the best tourist attractions in Barcelona. What was once a run-down area of factories and warehouses was redeveloped for the 1992 Olympics and now attracts millions of visitors annually. Perhaps it’s the old buildings in white stone, or the view of the boats on the water. The best way to enjoy Port Vell is to walk through the pedestrian walkway that leads you through the mall, which has a multiplex cinema and chic restaurants on the water. But, the best way to photograph Port Vell is from above at the nearby Columbus Monument for an aerial view.

Sagrada Familia: Everyone knows it’s typically touristy to visit Barcelona to get a view of the unfinished Sagrada Familia, but it has to be for good reason. Gaudi’s breathtaking cathedral seems like just another church, but once you take a look at the intricate detail in its structure, you’ll see why it’s such a timely piece. Look out for the detailed Nativity Facade, one of the most impressive parts which tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. You can also take a trip up to the towers where you’ll have a panoramic view of Barcelona.

The Magic Fountains of Montjuic: This attraction is a treat for all ages, whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart. The Magic Fountains of Montjuic is an illuminated fountain near Plaza Espanya. It has a rich history dating back to the Spanish Civil War when its grand opening was delayed. It was restored prior to the 1992 Olympics to not only provide a light show, but to play music as well. It’s a perfect spot for a romantic night shot, or for the kids to snap photographs of every color the fountain displays. (Hint: There are multiple color arrangements!)
