If you’ve got a flight to Fort Lauderdale, be prepared to be confused. There are so many activities and options, not to mention fine dining, out there, that the average visitor can find there’s an overwhelming array of options to pack in a single weekend.

With that said, here are some activities to do if you’re a sports fanatic.

Bergeron Rodeo Grounds: If you’re into western rodeos and monster truck shows, this is your place. Located in Davie, FL, you can get schooled in champion bull riding etc. It was once a rodeo arena, but now the venue has expanded to meet the needs of diverse events such as horse shows, dog shows and air boat shows.

Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium: This has the honor of being the only certified U.S. cricket stadium. It is a historical park and stadium if you’re into cricket (or open to becoming one). It also functions as a soccer camp and is located in Fort Lauderdale.

Golfing: This is a true golfer’s paradise, with over 40 courses, including those designed by Greg Norman, Raymond Floyd, Robert Trent Jones, and George Fazio.

Swimming Hall of Fame: Yes, this is located in Fort Lauderdale, and features two Olympic size pools, a big diving well, stadium seating and the museum itself. It’s located right across from the beach too, so if you want to take a dip, head on right to the ocean.

Watersports:  If you’re into stand-up paddle boarding, there are paddles and boards at the George English Park in Fort Lauderdale, and surfing with master surfers from Island Water Sports Deerfield Beach is also an option. They offer free surf lessons for the entire family on Saturday mornings. Yes, you heard right: FREE surf lessons. What’s your excuse?
