Cozy Outdoor Winter Cinema at The Berkeley Hotel in London CheapOair Staff October 24, 2012 general Enjoy Cinema in a Scenic Setting! Summer’s gone? Oh well, bring on the winter fun! London five-star hotel, The Berkeley, certainly intends to keep things warm, cozy and especially festive this winter without having to retreat indoors. The hotel is transforming its al fresco rooftop terrace Health Club & Spa into a pine-filled forest cinema this year. At the Berkeley Winter Cinema, resident guests of the hotel, as well as anybody else who might happen to be a fan of al fresco screening will be treated to classic winter movies played on the big screen along with plenty of down-feather Moncler blankets for snuggling. Homemade hot chocolate and Berkeley’s own recipe for mince pies will be on hand to complete the festive atmosphere while heating lamps will ensure guests keep warm when the cold really sets in. Screenings at The Berkeley’s Winter Cinema take place from the 26th of November 2012 until the end of January 2013 with winter favorites such as “Miracle on 34th Street” and “Love Actually.” If you’re looking for a good excuse to cuddle, this is it! And whatever film is being screened, the setting itself is guaranteed to be scenic… and very exclusive. Rising above bustling Knightsbridge and overlooking Hyde Park, the pine-lined outdoor theatre will be London’s only private cinema. The cinema will feature only four seats. Guests staying at The Berkeley can book the Winter Cinema on a complimentary basis. A special Winter Cinema package for Londoners is available at £55 per person and includes full access to the movie theatre at either the 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. seating, copious amounts of hot chocolate and homemade mince pies. Movies tickets are available for non-hotel guests on weekdays only, weather permitting. Weekend screenings are reserved for resident guests only. The Berkeley is located at the corner of Wilton Place and Knightsbridge, overlooking Hyde Park and is home to London’s only rooftop health club and spa on the eighth floor. Beyond this inventive use of outdoor space, an opulent range of reasons to stay at this upscale hotel include the two Michelin star restaurant, Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley; suites created by leading British interior designer, Helen Green, comprised of dove greys, snow whites and powder blues; and a “Prêt-a-Portea” fashion inspired afternoon tea showcasing the must-have items of each season in the form of colorful pastries and biscuits.
