What’s not to love about gentle seaside breezes and swaying palm trees? Even though fall foliage is in full swing on the East Coast, and winter is around the corner, there’s no shortage of sunshine in Florida especially if you’re worried you missed the wedding season. If you’re a romantic or fresh off the heels of a nuptial, here are several ways to continue to feel pampered, loved and spoiled in Fort Lauderdale.
Beaches: There are eight different beaches in Fort Lauderdale, each with its own unique twist and character. And there is no shortage of chic hotels and such to stay at, along with amenities, concierge service and wedding planners to make your romantic Fort Lauderdale vacation just perfect.
Parks and Gardens: Photo shoots with lush and colorful backgrounds can be hard to find in wintry areas of New England; Fort Lauderdale’s temperate weather year round ensures that flowers will still be blooming in the local parks and gardens (which are aplenty).
Underwater:  Believe it or not, since underwater weddings are becoming more prevalent, there are ways for the couple to get hitched while wet! Several hotels are now offering ways to make aquatic nuptials a reality. Greater Fort Lauderdale offers something quite cool: a unique natural three-tiered reef system that begins in 20 feet of water just 100 yards from shore at its closest point. You don’t have to be a pro to literally take the plunge.
Yacht Charters: With beautiful views of the coastline studded with mansion, palms and boats, yacht charters may offer a good opportunity for weddings of various shapes and sizes. After all, the area is referred to as the Venice of America, so why not tie the knot on water?
Country Clubs: Fort Lauderdale is home to several country clubs, and these may provide an elegant, stately setting for your upcoming nuptials. Some venues that are ideal candidates include the Bonaventure Country Club, Colony West Country Club and Coral Ridge Yacht Club.
