A deadly twister winds through Tuscaloosa, AL

Another string of deadly storms tore through the southern United States yesterday, destroying homes and taking lives.

The death toll from the latest round of severe weather could surpass 300, according to early estimates.

Officials in two of the hardest hit states, Alabama and Mississippi, have been going door-to-door in some counties looking for survivors amidst piles of rubble.

Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia were also hit hard though the death toll in those states is expected to be much lower. Overall, widespread damage has been reported in five states.
