JetBlue is considering building its own customs point inside New York City’s JFK Airport, according to reports late Thursday. Doing so would enhance its relationship with several international carriers.

Thus far, JetBlue has remained outside of any global airline alliance which makes transferring flights at JFK difficult for passengers; they are currently forced to change terminals at the hub.

Dave Barger, chief executive of the airline, said the move would surely enhance the passenger experience at JFK while allowing the carrier to remain outside of global alliances.
