The Best Las Vegas Wines, Flickr: paulaloe

Taste a Different Side of Vegas!

During college, I worked at a chain restaurant where we had a pretty typical selection of wines.  During training, we had to sample each one and note the flavors so we would best be able to describe them to our guests.  At the time, it was an exercise in futility as my knowledge of good wine was extremely limited.  Years later, I would love to re-visit this training with “experience” under my belt.  Although the chain is not likely to offer me this chance, there are plenty of wine drinking opportunities in most cities, even outside of wine country.  Among them, and approaching the top of the wine world, stands Las Vegas.  The large volume of clientele has made Las Vegas a wine lover’s paradise.  Book Cheap Flights to Las Vegas and get ready to discover your new favorite wine destination.

Overall Selection:

Aureole at Mandalay Bay

The creme de la creme of wine availability is at Aureole.  The 42-foot wine tower, accessed via “wine angels” who fly through the air to retrieve your bottle, is certainly a statement that alerts even the most non-discerning visitor to the importance of wine to this restaurant.  The urban vibe of this restaurant echoes in both the architecture and design all the way down to the touch screen menu that allows you to order one of its 3,200 bottles with ease.

Hip Environment:

N9NE at the Palms

If your goal is not just to sip fine wines, but to see and be seen by the most fabulous people in Vegas, be sure to head to the Palms.   The N9NE Steakhouse offers amazing food, great wines, and a celebrity-esque atmosphere that isn’t often duplicated. Reservations Recommended.

Fix at Bellagio

Located in the heart of the Bellagio’s nightlife scene, Fix offers an indulgent collection of fine foods and wines.  The open environment allows for plenty of mingling with your glass in hand. Reservations recommended.

Best for Tasting:

D.Vino at Monte Carlo

Exceptional Italian food is offered with a wide selection of wines at D. Vino.  What sets them apart is the ability to sample wines in small increments, taking advantage of either one, two, or five ounce pours.

Wine Cellar & Tasting Room at the Rio

With an emphasis on collector and hard-to-find wines, the wine cellar at the Rio features more than 10,000 bottles to peruse.  Sample bottles by the glass paired with small cheese plates and freshly baked breads for an optimum experience.

Veni, Vidi, Vino Wine Walk at the Venetian and the Palazzo

Sister resorts, The Venetian and The Palazzo offer a self-guided wine walking tour through a variety of restaurants located in the resorts.  Start your tour at Chef Mario Batali’s Otto Enoteca Pizzeria and follow the tour offering glasses of some of the most diverse and delicious wines you’ve yet to discover.

Beautiful Ambiance:

Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris

Sitting atop the iconic Eiffel Tower replica at the Paris Casino, this restaurant boasts stunning evening views of the Las Vegas strip, valley, and beyond (not to mention the spectacular view of the Bellagio fountains across the street!).  The Eiffel Tower Restaurant is THE restaurant for stunning beauty in Vegas.  A wide assortment of wines, accompanied by fabulously tempting French cuisine makes this your romantic best bet for wine selection.

Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian

Owned and operated by Chef Emeril Lagasse, this intimate restaurant offers seclusion and privacy, as well as 17,400 bottles of wine.  The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, the wine selection, as well as the food and ambiance, are top notch.
