If you didn’t know, Frankfurt is an excellent gateway to enter Europe. With cheap tickets to Frankfurt all year round, this destination is particularly interesting in the summertime. Temperatures get extremely warm in this city, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors with its international vibe and cultural experiences for every kind of traveler.

Frankfurt Main Tower

Manhattan is known for its towering skyline that dominates New York City, but did you know that Frankfurt has one of its own? Germany has given Frankfurt the nickname “Mainhattan” for that same notion; of having lovely skyscraper to the backdrop of a timeless city. Visit the Frankfurt Main Tower; one of the highest in Frankfurt to get a glimpse of this large city. On a warm day, it’s perfect to enjoy 360 degree views and to spot famous attractions like the Main Train Station or the Opera House. And when the sun sets, you’ll get envy worthy photographs of this lovely city.

Palmengarten

We would love to make the joke and say this is not like a German beer garden, but instead, it is an actual botanical garden in Frankfurt. Get your green on at this public site that tourists and locals love. This park was owned and designed by a private landscape gardener who wanted to showcase his exotic collection. This 50 acre garden includes greenhouses, flowers, a variety of tropical plants and a large lake. Many activities include enjoying the lush greenery, renting a boat on the lake and mini golf.

Rhinsteig

Sometimes, it is nice to go beyond the city borders to enjoy some peace and serenity. Germany is lucky enough to have one of the most scenic areas in Europe; the Rhinsteig. It invites hikers, walkers and those who love breathtaking views to enjoy the great outdoors. With its close location to Frankfurt, you can book a tour or get out there yourself to enjoy excellent weather that can end with a river cruise or a wine tasting, which is also a famous part of the region.

Frankfurt Zoo (Zoologischer Garten Frankfurt/Main)

Where are the wild things? While some may say in the bars late at night, the correct answer is at the Frankfurt Zoological Garden. It features nearly 5,000 animals of about 500 species. This second oldest zoo of Germany dates back to the mid-19th century and has been a huge part of Frankfurt's history. We love that they are open daily, every day of the year, but the best time is the summer, where the weather is optimal and most animals will come out for a show!
