Be Merry in Fort Lauderdale this Holiday Season!

Holidays are always a festive time of year, and Fort Lauderdale has a lot of merry making going on during the winter time: enough to make it worth booking flights to Fort Lauderdale during the “winter” season (of course the locals don’t really experience too much of the powdery white stuff).

Music and Dancing Under the Stars

Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, residents and visitors of Fort Lauderdale can listen to music under the stars at Hollywood Beach Theater, and it is completely free to the public as well (how’s that for service?). The festivities last until December 26th and the music ranges from big band to country, rock n roll, and soul.

Holiday Fantasy of Lights

Until January 5, 2013, visitors to Fort Lauderdale can enjoy a “Winter Wonderland” in the area of fun and surf. From 6-10 p.m. each day, cars can drive through the roads in Tradewinds Park, and take in three miles of animated holiday displays and illuminated trees. It’s a great idea to bring your cameras and mugs of hot cocoa.

Blues Night

At SoLita Italian Restaurant, there’s an ongoing series of locally-grown blues that will be the perfect foil to a good meal. EVOLUTION, which was formerly Big Poppa E and Evolution Band, plays here from 8 p.m. onwards. Call 954.357.2616 to ask which nights they’ll be on the premises.

Christmas On Las Olas

If you like classic Christmas memories, then you’re likely in for a treat at Christmas On Las Olas, with a snow mountain, carolers and skating rink all on the boulevard. Best of all, it’s free to visitors.

After his recent performance on “Saturday Night Live,” it might be difficult to get tickets for Louis C.K.–Fort Lauderdale is one of the Emmy-award winning comedian’s stops on November 28th. Admission is $45 per person, which is not a bad deal at all.
