Southwest Gets Stuck in the Mud

A landing Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 plane skated off the runway at Midway Airport Tuesday and got itself stuck in mud.

According to a passenger on the flight, Charles Moelter, there was water all over the runway, describing what he saw as “little ponds.”

A portable staircase was placed next to the plane for the 144 passengers on board to exit.

No one was injured.
