John Laughrey shows off his royal enthusiasm

John Loughrey, the man dubbed the “Diana Super Fan” by the British press, has been camping out in front of Westminster Abbey since Monday, hoping to secure a great view of Friday's wedding ceremony between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Although sleeping outside for a week shows impressive dedication, this is not Loughrey's most extreme run-in with royalty. In 2007, he quit his job so he could attend all 89 sessions of the inquest into Princess Diana's death.

As we creep closer to the big day, a small tent city is popping up behind Loughrey, with more royal enthusiasts arriving each hour.

The Super Fan, however, is ill-prepared for the rain which is predicted to fall during Friday’s nuptials.  The tent-less Loughrey admitted to TIME, “I don't mind if it rains on me. I don't want it to rain on Catherine or William. I want it to be a nice day so people can celebrate with their flags, and express joy.”
