Enjoy a Taste of Denver!

Denver has a fabulous reputation for many things- which is why it’s a top West Coast tourist destination. The Mile High City is a place for scenic views, winter sports, historical sights and beer. Let’s focus on that last one- Denver is chock full of beer pubs and breweries. Just because Denver may be a beer capital doesn’t mean you can’t find a nice swanky place to chill out and relax. Take a look at our picks for cocktail lounges that make Denver proud.

The Funky Buddha Lounge: We just love the name of this place, because of it we would like to think it guarantees a Zen like experience. This is true at The Funky Buddha Lounge which is a stylish local place inspired by Japanese interior design. Visit during the work week- including Friday night for a very Happy Happy Hour with drinks for $2. Accompany your cocktails with some delicious Asian inspired appetizers like Satay Chicken or Spring Rolls.

Delaney’s Bar and Cigar Lounge: With the craze over “Mad Men” and the sultry ambiance of the 60s era, wouldn’t you love to channel your inner Don and Megan Draper? Kick back and relax at Delaney’s Bar and Cigar Lounge in Downtown Denver. People keep coming back because you can order a proper whiskey and smoke a cigar at the bar or even in a private room. It’s a comfortable place where you can mingle with locals and enjoy a few drinks and a cigar. Their best kept secret is a two-lane bowling alley to top off a fun night at Delaney’s. (We only wonder if the Drapers bowled in the 60s too?)

Cru – A Wine Bar: Let’s face it; some of us have a lovely relationship with wine. It’s a special one where we enjoy tasting the succulent flavors of aged grapes that send us to a special place called relaxed. Get this experience in Denver at Cru – A Wine Bar, with over 300 selections and over 60 premium choices. If you’re familiar with beer flights where you can sample local beers, this place has a wine flight that does the exact same thing with wine. Cru is that cozy place for that wine lover who wants to enjoy the best. Pair your vino with a variety of dishes from all around the world like artisan cheese, fire stoned pizza or big plates like Filet Mignon.

16Mix: There is always that one place back home that you can always count on for that perfect cocktail that has your name on it. 16Mix is that spot in Denver that does this and more. Unwind and get friendly with the professional mixologists at the 16th Street mall bar that trendy locals love. Specialty Cocktails are just under $10 and include selections like a Malibu Mai Tai or a Luchee Martini. There are even concoctions to please the designated drivers or those who simply choose not to drink. (We love the Denver Mint)

Harry’s Bar at the Magnolia Hotel: If you’re staying at the hip Magnolia Hotel in Denver, there is no excuse to not visit Harry’s Ba. Located in the former American National Bank building, this boutique hotel is home to Harry’s Bar- a retro place to get your drink on. Their cocktail menu is so good that you may have to visit twice, unless you really want to make it a fun night. We love the twists on classics like the French Twist Martini and the Parisian Lemonade. This groovy place channels the retro age with lava lamp fixtures and bright colors that glow. We only wish our drinks could glow too because that would just be too awesome.
