A 68-year-old man was arrested in Boise after he punched a teenage boy aboard a Southwest Airlines flight Tuesday night.

According to police, the altercation took place during the landing of a flight from Las Vegas to Boise after the boy refused to turn off his cell phone as instructed by the plane crew.

Russell Miller, the elderly assailant, felt he needed to take action, police said.

The boy, who was flying alone, did not require immediate medical attention.

Miller was later booked on a misdemeanor battery charge in the Ada County Jail.
