Malaysia Airlines is defending its no babies allowed in first class rule after customers complained all week about the new policy aboard A380 flights.

The state-owned carrier dropped baby bassinets from Boeing 747 first-class
cabins back in 2004, and said it would apply the same
policy on its superjumbos when they debut in 2012.

Travelers reacted strongly on both sides about blocking babies from first class access. The carrier responded to critics via their Twitter page stating, “It is a tough call. There will be unhappy (passengers) either way.”

On Wednesday Malaysia Airlines released a statement that said the carrier reconfigured first-class seats aboard its 747 jumbo jets in November 2004 to reduce
the number of seats from 18 to 12. The redesign was made to provide passengers with more room and to make space for a luxurious ottoman seat.
