Pink Flamingo Causes Stir at Britain’s Manchester Airport CheapOair Staff July 6, 2011 general Truck, Flares and Loud Music Couldn't Fend Off the Flamingo Animals just can’t seem to get enough of invading airport runways. This time a pink flamingo named Ringo was on the runways of Britain’s Manchester Airport Sunday. It took five hours for the authorities to try capture the flamingo before it disappeared. It reappeared Monday morning. This time around they tried to sway it off the runway with a 4×4 truck, they tried flares as well as loud music but none of it worked. According to the MSNBC report, the pink flamingo flew away in the middle of the day. It didn’t keep any planes grounded but did force one of the runways to close early.
