Delta upgrading fleet with amazing amenities

We reported earlier this week how American Airlines plans to upgrade their fleet with more space for additional seats and larger bins for checked bags.

Now comes news that Delta Air Lines is also planning a little extreme airline makeover of their own.

Delta is planning to install more luxurious seats, extra space and individual televisions on 16 of their Boeing 747-400 aircrafts, which mostly fly long-haul flights from Tokyo.

The Associated Press reports that, “between summer 2011 and 2012, Delta will install fully
horizontal flat-bed seats in the BusinessElite cabin and new Economy
class seats with personal, on-demand entertainment systems, increased
space and added under-seat storage.”

Delta will have invested over $1 billion in its fleet once all projects are completed in 2013. In addition to the aforementioned upgrades, Delta is going to offer full flat-bed seats on over 100 aircrafts, which include all Boeing 777s, 767s, and 747s.
