A common scene at airports across the country this holiday

The folks at Skype have placed millions of holiday travelers on the “nice list” this Christmas. Starting this week the video-conferencing giant will provide free Wi-Fi service at 50 airports across the United States, according to a report from Gadling.

Beginning Wednesday, December 21 and continuing through Tuesday, December 27, travelers will be able to enjoy free internet access through third-party Wi-Fi hotspots at many of the nation’s busiest airports.

Hubs participating in the Skype freebie include Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International, and JFK Airport in New York City.

With huge crowds, inclement weather, and delays all but assured for travelers this season, the service couldn’t have come at a better time.

Here’s to ho-ho-hoping your holiday travel goes off without a hitch!
