Airport security lines with many shoe-less passengers

We reported here last week that Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration were playing around with the idea of purchasing shoe scanners for U.S. airports.

Well just seven days later and the idea has again been put on hold. According to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the technology needed for the scanners to work properly just is not ready yet.

So that means passengers will have to continue to slide off their shoes and sneakers…for now.
