Interview With Alexa Curtis for New York City Fashion Week CheapOair Staff September 5, 2013 Interests, Shopping We recently sat down with Alexa Curtis, fashion blogger and model to get to know her more as she gears up for a busy Fall 2013 Fashion Week. Who are some of you fashion influences? I'm really inspired by various fashion models and icons, like Joan Smalls and Oliva Palermo. I consider my style to be really similar to theirs, so they are people I look up to. I'm also drawn toward different celebrities like Selena Gomez and Blake Lively, because they are fashion icons that incorporate budget friendly pieces into their wardrobe. Who are some of your favorite bloggers? I'm a huge fan of Sincerely, Jules, as well as Into the gloss. I'm also a big fan of some of my close blogger friends like Kelsey Runaway in LA and Meera from Moments With Meera. There are so many bloggers out there whose blogs I love! I tend to be drawn toward smaller, more intimate blogs who aren't necessarily in every magazine, because those always seem to be the ones that have a distinct view point and eye for fashion. What item are are you unable to travel with out? My headphones. What style do you most feel you emulate in your own day-to-day wardrobe? I consider my style a mixbetween vintage and edgy. I don't like to take anything I wear too seriously. Fashion is either hit or miss, and if you don't experiment with different trends and fashion items, you will never know what looks best and what doesn't look as good. How do you go to school and maintain such a successful blog? I just transferred to online school, which will hopefully give me much more of an advantage with my work and more opportunities. I didin't manager school very well while I was going, and definitely didn't excel in many areas beacuse I was coming home to the stress of my job. It was tricky, but I managed it while I could. High School is not fun. What Fashion Shows will you be stopping by this fall? Tons! I'm most excited for BCBG, Tibi and Herve Leger. What cities have you had the privilege of visiting? Of Course New York which is my favorite city. I've been to many on the East Coast, as well as London and a few more outside of the country. My dream is to otur the worls and experience every single city and culture. I'm going to Turkey for 13 days in November, so that will be a new experience! What Destinations do you hope your career in fashion will take you to in the future? I'm hoping my career will take me to every country and place in the world. I'd love to go to Bali and Greece, as well as places like Africa and third world countries where I can make a difference. There is a world full of opportunity out there, and even thinkin I could possibly make a mark in these areas is mind blowing, and quite exciting. Images provided by Shutterstock and via Alexa Curtis
