American Airlines will reduce service to Japan until late April

American Airlines, the third-largest US carrier serving Japan, recently announced that it will cut two daily flights to the island nation due to low demand.

The carrier will drop a daily flight from New York’s JFK Airport to Haneda Airport in Tokyo and one of two daily flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International to Narita.

According to airline spokesman Ed Martelle, American will reinstate the suspended flights on April 26.

“Our scheduling people believe the situation will be stabilizing, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation and make whatever changes we have to make,” he added.
