Singapore Airlines to Offer Inflight WiFi CheapOair Staff October 5, 2010 general Singapore Airlines will be the first carrier in Asia to offer such services On Tuesday, Singapore Airlines said it would be able to provide passengers in-flight wireless internet access at 35,000 feet in the air, by next year. The airline’s plan is to create a scheme that will allow access to WiFi Internet and mobile telephony services from as early as the first 6 months of 2011. SIA said it would be the first major airline in Asia to offer these services, which would be provided as part of its in-flight program. Passengers will be charged for using the service, which will be offered on all long-haul aircrafts. Details will be announced closer to the launch. Source: AFP
